Jul 30, 2020 · The height of a 2.75 - 14 tire is about 100% of the width, so a 80/90 - 14 tire has a slightly smaller outer diameter. Comparable to a 18 x 3.0 though. With motorcycle tires there is more variation between the size specification and actual measurements, so there is more risk of a tire not fitting an EUC.
150/90-R16 tires are 1.18 inches (30 mm) larger in diameter than 150/80-R16 tires and the speedometer difference is 4.4%.
Oct 20, 2004 · A 130/80 tire is 130 mm wide and (130 x .80 = ) 104 mm tall (or 4.10” tall). So 5.10 inches wide and 4.10” tall I had flipped height and width on the Metric example, standard inch sizes don’t give an aspect ratio because it is 100% as I originally said. FWIW I have never seen or used a “low profile inch” tire as shown in the link
Jun 5, 2009 · In other words, the second “90” means that the tire’s profile is 90% of its width. Which means that a 90/90 is a theoretical 81 mm tall at the sidewall; a 100/90 is 90 mm tall, and a 110/90 is 99 mm tall. Here’s a table that shows the differences in millimeters and inches: Motorcycle Tire Aspect Ratio Calculations. Tire Width.
In example "B" the last number "17" is the wheel size the tire will fit on. Therefore the sidewall twice would be 8.41 x 2 = 16.82 plus the wheel "17" makes the tire height 16.82 + 17 = 33.82. So a 305/70R17 metric tire would calculate to an inch measurement tire of 33.82x12R17.
